The way things should be

Sometimes you just have to just sit and contemplate the cosmos. It does not matter if you are contemplating your life's problems, world peace, politicians, or what you are going to have for breakfast tomorrow. Its not what you are contemplating or how you contemplate. Its all about where you do the contemplation. For me, it is in nature. It really doesn't matter what nature...whether it is in a wilderness, in the back yard or at the park. For me, its finding that one thing in any place that is natural and belongs. Even the smallest blade of grass or fallen leaf can open the mind and free the soul. Focus does not require patience or practice. Focus requires nothing more then finding that one thing or type of thing that moves you. Once you find it, store it away in your brain somewhere between your hectic schedule, worries and plans. When you need it, it will always be there.

And...while you are at it, have a look at these. It does not shame me to admit that I did not take these photos. My schedule over the last couple of weeks has not really allowed for time for photography, so I stole a few off of a family friend, Carl Thomas. Sorry Carl. A couple are current and a couple are older. I tend to avoid Glacier Park, however if you choose to brave the tourists and the crazies...sometimes its worth it. Enjoy.
